This course provides an in-depth look at the operation and design of the UMTS Radio Access Network (UTRAN). The course looks at the UTRAN in relation to the core network before looking in detail at the WCDMA physical layer and the radio interface protocols. The course then explains radio network planning, UTRAN link architecture design and radio resource management. Other topics include QoS and traffic management.
