This course provides an in-depth overview of SIP and IMS. The course examines the subject of SIP at an advanced level and focuses on the issues involved in SIP within IMS networks and in particular, the components found in 3GPP release 5/6/7. All the main SIP components in an IMS architecture are covered. Topics include call establishment/release, server functions, SDP, RTP/RTCP, security, AAA, signaling, call control, QoS and interworking.
